The BlueBird Polly Pockets were some of my favorite toys when I was younger. Those tiny dolls had such cute miniature sets in their little compacts. Polly Pocket has had a new makeover recently and this time it’s much closer to the BlueBird size. The dolls are quite a bit smaller than other versions Mattel Polly Pockets I’ve seen. The compact is back with lots of tiny accessories. The new dolls are not as small as the BlueBird Polly Pockets, but they come pretty close. I also appreciate all the details.
The set pictured is the Polly Pocket Teeny Boppin’ Concert Compact. It comes with a doll, guitar, working guitar case, microphone on stand, compact, and ring to attach to the compact. The doll’s name Shani. The compact has a set with a piano and drums. I noticed that parts of Shani are rubbery, like the legs and head, and some parts are hard plastic. It seemed like BlueBird sets were painted plastic, but a lot of the new ones have stickers (like on the guitar and in the compact’s background).
Overall, I think I like the new Polly Pocket dolls quite a bit. I picked up a few more not too long ago and I’ll try to post them soon. There are a few larger play sets, but I think I am going to stick to the really tiny compacts.
