It's another dolly dress up day and it's Barbie's turn. She's dressed in a pale pink dress, necklace, and earrings by Integrity Toys. The fur is a fabric scrap I picked up at the IFDC (International Fashion Doll Convention) a few years ago. The fur really makes the outfit, I think.
This tunic dress has a tiny bit of stretch in the blue floral print and can fit a variety of 1:6 scale fashion dolls. I thought it looked best on Poppy Parker. It has been confirmed to adequately fit Poppy Parker/Misaki/Amelie, Jenny, Momoko, Fashion Royalty, NuFace, Victoire Roux, FR Monogram, Dynamite Girls, Model Muse, Silkstone Barbie, Susie, and Liv dolls. Only one is available. Get yours in the shop while you can!
One of the recent Barbie Fan Club exclusive Silkstone dolls is Boater Ensemble. I saw the pictures on the Barbie Collector website and really felt I needed to have this doll. Well, she came in the mail a few days ago and, I have to say, I was not as impressed with the in-real-life doll versus the promo photos. I decided to sit on it for few days before I made up my mind about this little lady. Boater Ensemble, I feel, is like many dolls where the promo photos do not necessarily coincide with the final product. Boater’s face paint is a little different, especially the lip color. See below for photos of the Silkstone Barbie, still in the box with netting around her head.
Do not get wrong, she is still a beautiful doll with darling clothes. That straw hat with tulle is fantastic!
My relationship with Silkstone Barbies has been pretty slim until now. After a recent commission, I started to like these dolls quite a bit. Below are some pics from the recent commission. Chicdesign, owner of a new Barbie-inspired Etsy shop, has provided some pictures as well. Spoiler alert -- I have 5 new dresses in a similar fashion coming out in the shop very soon.
