Jem and the Holograms: Jerrica Benton

Just out of the box is an Integrity Toys Jerrica Benton from Jem and the Holograms. I picked up this lovely lady during a damaged box sale. I'm certainly a fan of those blue and white stripes and her great little white clutch.  I was pretty excited to get a pair of blue shades, but her shades broke immediately after opening the box.  The hinge and lens definitely require extra care.  Jerrica came with an extra pair of hands and stand as well.

British Boy Style Momoko

Today's new Momoko fresh out of the box is British Boy Style.  Let's take a closer look at her. Firstly, I noticed her dark colored socks, bow tie, beret, and shoes were packaged separately and not dressed on the body.  This, in my opinion, was a smart move on Sekiguchi's part since there have been issues with clothing dye staining dolls in the past.

Among all her cute clothing and accessories, my favorite certainly has to be the darling printed argyle sweater.  The argyle pattern is not woven into the fabric.  She has great slightly crimped red hair.  Her eyes are blue, which might be a bit hard to see in my pictures.  I did not remove the plastic wrapping on certain parts of her body, which you may see in the images as well.

Tonner 16" Outfits

A little under a year ago I acquired my first Tonner 16" tall doll.  She has not gotten much use yet, but she did get to come out of the box recently for a fun commission.  Below are pics of the recent glam punk themed commission.  My fav is certainly the black dress with lace.  The pics are a little different than my usual point-and-shoot photos since I've been taking a photography basics class, in which case these photos were a part of my homework.  We'll see how much my photos improve over time. Perhaps more 16" Tonner doll clothing will appear in the shop soon.  For now, I'm working on a pattern book for a variety of different doll sizes.  Keep a watch out for it this summer.

BJD Company Gifties

For those of us who like to invest in ball-jointed dolls, sometimes we get lucky and a doll company will give us little extra gifties with our doll purchases.  Well, Peak's Woods is one of those awesome companies.  Below are photos of Peak's Woods monthly fairies that I have received.  One of the dolls is the fairy of July called "Woody."  The other is currently unknown, likely based on fire, and was received in March.  Previously, Peak's Woods used to give little cat statues as gifts. Some of these darling tiny dolls are available on the Peak's Woods website with wig and eye options.  The head cap can even be replaced with a regular head cap, which can be ordered through the Peak's Woods website.  At first these dolls kinda creeped me out -- now I think these little 8 cm tall dolls are just too cute!

Know of any other BJD companies that give fun items with doll purchases?  Post about it on the MegannArt Facebook page.

Rosette Violet

There is a new lady in the house and she came from Soom.  She's a Rosette Violet and simply fabulous!  She arrived today ready to be strung and I simply couldn't wait to do it.  I think she might be one of my new favorite BJDs.  The sculpting is very well done and she articulates/poses beautifully.  Also, she came with caps to put over her knees when her legs are folded.  Soom really did a great job with this lovely lady. Another reason I decided to purchase a Rosette is because of their unusual size.  She is 47.5 cm in height, reaching almost as tall as an SD BJD, but she is so lanky that she is more likely to fit larger YoSD and smaller MSD clothing (in the torso).  This doll definitely needs some fun clothes hot off the sewing machine.  Perhaps some will make their way to the shop.
