Hiro is dressed in an Azone Picco Neemo outfit. I tried another Picco outfit on Hiro, but it was a bit too tight in the bust. However, the Alice outfit pictured fits her perfectly. Let's just hope she does not fall down a rabbit hole any time soon. I'm getting very close to finishing up some digital patterns to put on Etsy. Stay tuned!
The Integrity Toys convention was last week and I picked up a couple Picco Neemo outfits from the Azone table. Since I have a thing for white attire and super tiny dolls, I naturally had to pick up a white kitty set for my Picco. She made a great little Halloween companion. Not pictured is a pair of paw feet that match the gloves. In addition to the cat outfit, I got a white dress with a top hat. It's so cute! I have noticed that Picco Neemo clothes fit Tiny Elfdoll BJDs very well, except some of the shoes. Azone Picco Neemo clothes are always so intricate, modern, and great to add to any collection.
After a trip to the salesroom at the 2015 National Barbie Doll Collector's Convention, I managed to find a Dawn doll by Topper Toys in pretty good condition. This doll did not have the green knees that many of the Dawn dolls appear to have by this age. She's from the 1970s and had a variety of male and female friends. While this doll is a little taller than all the dolls in Dolly Bureau volume 3, some of her clothes, shoes and accessories fit smaller dolls in the book.
Dawn looks pretty similar in size to the Mattel RockFlowers. Dawn is a bit taller than Picco Neemo (pictured below) and some clothing can be shared between the dolls. It seems like the shoes do not work out very well between the dolls, but Dawn shoes can be squeezed pretty tightly onto Picco feet (also pictured below).
Some of my absolute favorite tiny dolls are Picco Neemo, many of which can be found in Dolly Bureau volume 3 (All About Tiny Dolls). The Lil' Fairy Lipu, pictured above, was not included in the book, but definitely deserves an honorable mention. The Lil' Fairy stands at 14cm, just a little over the maximum height requirement for Dolly Bureau volume 3. She has some of the same body parts as the standard Picco Neemo, but her limbs and head are larger. See below for a comparison. Some of the same clothes will fit between the two body styles. They both are very darling and popular. Below is a photo of the doll in a pattern you can try in Dolly Bureau volume 3. I know it's not the most flattering dress, but there is a tip in the book on how to show off the curves of a doll in this dress.
For a little while, Dolly Bureau 1 & 2 will be on sale in the Etsy shop. Get ready for the release of Dolly Bureau volume 3 this summer. This year the book will still have some patterns, but it will also have many other features that focus on tiny dolls. It will include highlighting different kinds of tiny dolls, pattern drafting, craft tutorials, and other fabulous handmade works by dolly enthusiasts.
