Repurposing, X-mas Gifts

The post is a week or two late, but Merry X-mas to me! After my crusade to make works of art through repurposing, I have apparently been inspiring people to do some of their own work of this nature, including my mother. Using some old craft supplies she had on hand, she made this elaborate gift for me for X-mas. It is an awesome wall hanging done in latch hook, the design made to look similar to my website. My cat, Myrtle, also makes an appearance in the piece. I've hung it on the wall over my work desk.

Disney of the World, namely Japan (part 2)

Here is part 2 of the exploring Disney merchandise in Japan. I recently came across the Disney Dollcena dolls and, I have to admit, I bought a couple. Perhaps it is my personal taste, but it seems like Japanese Disney products tend to be more creative and seem less like mass produced box store merchandise where the same graphic is repeatedly slapped onto a t-shirt. The dolls are a collaboration between Tomy and Disney. Many more kinds of dolls are available than pictured. They seem to be about the size of a mini Pullip doll. I noticed the Dollcenas' eyes open and close.

Starting left to right and then clockwise: Captain Jack Sparrow (Pirates Adventure), Alice of Alice in Wonderland (Milky Girl), Chip (Nuts Mania C), Christmas version of Jack Skellington (What Is Christmas?!), Mickey Mouse fan (I Love the Mouse), and Marie from Aristocats (Miu Miu Ribbon).

Some of the other dolls not pictured include Cinderella, Belle, Donald Duck, Chicken Little, Woody (from Toy Story), Winnie the Pooh, Stitch, and several more.

I personally hope to acquire Nuts Mania C. The characters Chip and Dale have a stronger hold on the Japanese market than they do in America, so there are always fun imports to discover.

Momoko Clothes, Winter Love

An old Calvin Klein gray polo shirt can go to good use if I have good ideas, such as making a pullover vest and socks for another darling outfit for the Momoko dolls. My Silver Crescent Momoko is dressed in the outfit with a white turtle neck, black pleated skirt, black boots and the gray attire mentioned above.

Momoko Clothes, Sweets for Our Sweets (part 3)

Through the mountain of fabric, I found a lovely chiffon in a minty green with a similar light cotton fabric to match. Since I was doing the Sweets for Our Sweets collection, I figured this would fit the theme and make a great elegant dress. I also added a cream colored belt with a bow as a finishing touch. The Groovy Baby Momoko makes an excellent model with her olive green eyes. I later noticed that I probably got some inspiration for this dress from a Momoko STOC exclusive layered pink dress that I recently came across on the internet (see below).

For more of the Sweets for Our Sweets collection, see some of my older posts dating back to December 1st.
