Momoko Clothes, The Tube Top/Dress

Sometimes intricate patterns for 1:6 scale doll clothes can wipe me out. They are complicated and take a lot of work. Instead of doing uber detailed work constantly, I decided to take break with some simpler designs. I made up the tube top/dress based on a very similar design from Wet Seal that's in my own closet. After a while, I was starting to think my dolls dress way better than I do. In addition to the tube top/dress theme, there is a floral theme. Each of the girls has something floral in their outfit; a flower in their hair, a flower print on their clothes or holding a watering can with a flower painted on it.

I'm also thinking of doing some tops with prints on them as well.

Repurposing, Handmade Paper and Paint

Old notes from college and acrylic paint can go a long way. At least they do when I make recycled paper and then use it for projects like painting. The first in this series of work is a very similar design to the collage work I did back in October. Making recycled paper is quite enjoyable and makes for unique highly textured paper. I'll be posting some more designs soon.

Interested in making paper like shown? Let me know and I'll post a tutorial on my methods.

Disney of the World, namely Japan

I've come to an interesting conclusion - Disney products of Japan tend to be way cooler than most offered in America, aside from awesome American products like the stuffed Pook-a-Looz. It is odd that the homeland of the Walt Disney empire doesn't market better products for its audience. Let's take a look at some Disney products of Japan that I discovered through a quick search today on the internet (descriptions below).

1. Pullip Byul Dumbo inspired doll. There are summer clothes under the Dumbo outfit and apparently pushing his tummy makes a sound. 2. Re-Ment miniature Cheshire Cat key chain. Re-ment makes tons of Disney related miniature 1:6 scale plastic food products as well. 3. Shellie May teddy bear. Shellie is a friend of Duffy, Mickey Mouse's teddy bear that was originally created for the market in Japan, having recently made it's way into select Disney amusement parks in the U.S. 4. Pullip Peter Pan doll. There is also a Tinker Bell and Captain Hook. 5. Tokyo Disneyland stickers in gear motif. The Disney parks in Tokyo also have pretty awesome unique Little Mermaid products.

Found some other awesome Disney products from Japan? Let me know and post about it.

Momoko Clothes, Magenta Prom

Mostly just playing around with patterns, I came up with this piece for the Momoko dolls. Personally, it is no where near my favorite outfit, but it deserves recognition nonetheless. Since it is not high on my list of loveliness, I've decided to sell it at discount on Etsy.
